Mary Smith has been employed with the US Department of Agriculture, Forest Service for 23 years. She is currently the Center Director of the Oconaluftee Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center, located in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Cherokee, NC.
A native of Chicago, Illinois, she continued her education by graduating from Bishop College, Dallas, Texas. She obtained a B.S. in Business Education/Business Administration and an M. A. in Educational Administration and Supervision from Chicago State University.
Mary is the mother of two sons, served in the U.S. Army Reserves, member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Mary enjoys spending time with her family, working with young adults, traveling and listening to Christian music.
