Mary Ricketson biography

Mary Ricketson, a certified clinical mental health counselor, is a licensed professional counselor in practice in Murphy, North Carolina. She has worked in the Cherokee County area since 1974. Since 1978, she has worked in the mental health field and has been in private practice since 1987. Mary has a M.A.Ed., is a certified Gestalt therapist, and is certified by the International Institute of Visualization Research. She believes that everyone has the capacity to live a happy and healthy life and that proper professional counseling can help those who are having difficulty achieving this goal. Mary specializes in working with victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and trauma. In addition to traditional counseling methods, Mary offers EEG biofeedback, also known as neurofeedback. This method can be helpful with such conditions as depression, sleep problems, attention deficit disorder, anxiety, and many other conditions. For the past ten years, Mary's monthly article "Woman to Woman" has appeared in the Cherokee Scout. This is Mary's fourth year with the Women's Conference, and it is no exaggeration to say that she is "back by popular demand."
