Prior to moving to North Carolina, in September of 2005, Ronda Birtha was a true Jersey Girl- born, raised, educated, and employed in her home state of New Jersey. She came south to accept the position of staff photographer with the Cherokee Scout newspaper. She now has her own photography and marketing business.
Ronda is a 1990 graduate from Rutgers University with a bachelor’s degree in English literature.
In the interest of pursuing her long desired theocratic goals, she relocated to Andrews, NC. She left a successful career with Canon USA Inc., working her way up from a systems engineer to senior curriculum development specialist. In her last role as senior curriculum developer, she authored the Art and Science of Color and Color Management: the Official Reference for the Color Imaging Professional (CIP) Certification, served as lead instructor for this comprehensive 2-week course on color management, and was the keynote speaker two years in a row at Canon’s leading annual TechNet conference. As lead instructor, Ronda has had the privilege of traveling the country and training field technicians, systems engineers, graphic designers and others involved in color imaging, from all over the world.
Ronda’s first creative love is both photography and writing, and since her youth she knew her career would involve the printed image and the written word. Nonetheless, she considers the five years spent working with the most scientific aspects of color science and color management as necessary and meaningful tangents.
